Mental Performance Workshops & Collaborations
Equip your students with research-backed tools to beat stage fright, build confidence & become resilient.
Why artists quit- It’s not their lack of talent.
Universities and Conservatories aim to give their students the highest levels of technical training possible. Yet the reality is, the performing arts have one of the highest burnout rates of any profession. Studies estimate that up to 70% of performing artists experience significant performance anxiety, and the number of BFA graduates who leave the industry within a few years of graduating is striking, not because they lack skill, but because no one taught them how to manage the mental demands of a career in the arts.
Living inside a high-stakes, high-criticism environment takes a toll. Constant rejection, income insecurity, and the pressure to always be "on" compound over time, and without the right tools, even the most gifted performers hit a wall.
We've long accepted that elite athletes need mental skills training, but what about artists?
As a former performer turned mental performance coach (B.M., M.M., M.A. Psych), I spent years believing that stage fright, self-doubt, and performance anxiety were just feelings I had to push through or hide.
However, research demonstrates that confidence, resilience, and the ability to manage nerves under pressure are not fixed traits you either have or don't. They are trainable skills built through the right systems, practiced over time, and available to any artist willing to do the work.
That realization changed everything about how I coach. And it's what drives every workshop I deliver. Allowing research and neuroscience to drive the conversation and teaching students to rewire their brains to optimize peak performance.
TESTIMONIAL
“I was so impressed with the entire presentation, it was so well thought out and the information was easy to digest! I think the most helpful part for my students was just the understanding of what performance anxiety is and how normal that response is! And then, of course, the practical tools of how to help keep ourselves grounded and clear were super helpful, and the concept of "calm" in a performance setting as opposed to how we might usually think of the idea of being calm. I am excited to have you back and to bring you into other schools!!”

What my workshops look like:
My workshops bring together psychoeducation and practical tools training. Participants don't just understand why they feel what they feel, but leave with concrete action steps to integrate into their pre-, during-, and post-performance routines.
Every workshop is designed for the specific pressures performing artists face: audition stress, negative self-talk, nerves/performance anxiety, handling rejection/criticism, imposter syndrome, crippling perfectionism, and separating self-worth from external validation.
Past workshop titles include:
Own the Audition
Performance Anxiety Unmasked
The Actor Reset
Crafting a Performance Mindset
Calm Your Stage Fright
Performance Anxiety 101
Workshops can be tailored for university programs, conservatories, performing arts organizations, and private studios.
